At the event, which will be held on Friday and Saturday in Santo Domingo, the capital of the Caribbean country, Lasso will assume the interim presidency of this mechanism for political agreement and cooperation.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Human Mobility here, the Andean nation will fill this role for the first time and will focus its year in the office on the areas of innovation, inclusion and sustainability.

In this context, three strategic axes are proposed: alternative economies of development, food security and climate change, as indicated by the Ecuadorean Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
