The “royal family” that dominates social networks

The “royal family” that dominates social networks

Fame and fortune are now the result of increased followers on social media, but these heroes have been famous since the cradle and many of their relatives top the lists of the richest people in the world. Some of their influential predecessors were represented in the paintings of the best painters over the centuries, and now they are doing the same on their social media networks.

The closest case we have is that of Victoria Federica de Marichalar. She doesn't like the influencer label, but it's a way to simplify her own suitability as a royalty in the networking world. He made his Instagram profile public in 2021 and in a short time he surpassed his brother Felipe's popularity. At that moment, Victoria wanted to distance herself from being an Instagram user who makes a living from it, but she recently started sharing content using the #publi hashtag and it doesn't seem to be hurting anyone either.

The Infanta's daughter, Elena, is related to the king but is not part of the royal family, and given her age, she continues to search for a role in the world that suits her unique status. She seems interested in the world of fashion and attending parties and already has 267,000 users following her.

Her first cousin is Olympia of Greece, firstborn of Princes Paul and Marie-Chantal Miller of Greece, who enjoyed the freedom of not belonging to a ruling royal house. He focused his studies on the world of art and fashion. For that reason, and because she's a descendant of the stylish Miller sisters, it's no surprise that she's a true blue-blooded influencer. Louis Vuitton, Bvlgari, Saint Laurent, Gucci… There are few luxury brands that you would resist collaborating with whether because of their title or personal style. She is followed by nearly 300,000 Instagram profiles, and apart from fashion-related content, she shares summer photos with her three younger brothers, Constantine, Achilles and Odysseus.

Today Denmark declares Frederick X, uncle of Count Nicholas Monpezat, king. It is not clear whether this young and influential model has been invited to attend the celebrations, but it is clear that he will not attend. His grandmother, Queen Margaret II, withdrew the title of prince from him and his brothers in January 2023 to reduce the royal family and make it equal to the rest of the European crowns. Before that, Nicholas tried to pursue a military career like his father, but he retired from it shortly after. What the former prince seems to be immersed in is his modeling work. He's already been involved with Dior, among other brands, and has also starred in editorials in men's fashion publications.

Eugenie of York is the only member of the British royal family to maintain a public Instagram profile, where she has nearly two million followers. Aside from focusing on fashion, she gives voice in her posts to social causes and charitable causes in which she collaborates. He also promotes the podcast he participates in, where he gives, for example, an up-close picture of what it's like to live in a mansion in the 21st century. He recently told how they greeted food delivery workers in Kensington.

Unlike European monarchies, Arab royal families have found a new way to communicate via Instagram. It is difficult to find cases of members of European ruling families developing personally via the Internet, but Arabs have an advantage in this matter. Rania of Jordan, former Sheikha Moza bint Nasser of Qatar, Prince Hussein of Jordan, Prince Fazza of Dubai, or in Brunei, Prince Abdul Mateen (who stars in a nine-day wedding marathon) amass millions of followers on their official profiles. Most of these royal members share institutional content, but the last two princes also show their arrogance by displaying their genius and personality in their personal files.

Lady Di's most visible relative on the social network is Lady Kitty Spencer, her niece. She is not part of the British royal family but is a cousin of Princes William and Harry. Her wedding to Michael Lewis was a social event in Rome, and although she is very secretive about her private life, she shares photos of her engagements with major fashion brands on Instagram.

Sisters Carolina and Clara Borbon-dos Cecilias, daughters of Prince Carlos de Borbon and Chevron-Villet, seem to be addicted to the social network. They share photos of their daily lives, their families, their interest in fashion, and their attendance at parties. Clara made headlines over the summer over her alleged affair with Prince Christian of Denmark, which she was forced to deny in a statement on her personal page, and has stopped fantasizing about becoming queen.
