For their part, lawmakers from various constituencies have indicated that the country can continue to seek assistance for Haiti in the international community, as long as they do not threaten national arrogance.

Dominican Foreign Minister Roberto Alvarez is already in the capital of the United States to participate in the 53rd regular session of the OAS General Assembly, where he will present the government’s position on an issue of concern to the region.
