Marcus Daniel and Michael Venus made history Olympic Games Tokyo 2020, After winning a bronze medal in tennis in the men’s tennis doubles for New Zealand. The win came in two sets, 7-6 and 6-2, against the pair of Astik Krozesek and Dennis Sandgren of the United States. This achievement marks a new beginning for the sea country because they did not win a medal in this sport.

With the Ariac Tennis Park set up, the pair tried to put themselves in third place with the desire to stay on stage to win the bronze medal. In the process of meeting, the first set was contested and the winner is uncertain. Of course, the 6-6 tie was a ‘tie break’ and the New Zealanders won 7-6 with an hour to go in the first quarter.

In the second set, Marcus and Michael were superior and forced the Americans to make double mistakes, so they captured the set 6-2 in 50 minutes. Marines showed 100% performance in their second service and earned eight points for it.

This is the first medal awarded by tennis at the Olympics. The men’s doubles final takes place today, July 30, between two Croatian pairs: Nikola Mekdik / Mad Pavic and Marin Ciclik / Ivan Dodik. In Croatia they are already waiting for gold and silver medals in this fight.
