University students from Ecuador will march for a quality public education (+ VIDEO)

The event will be attended by more than two thousand university students from 18 public institutions, as well as guests from Brazil, the Dominican Republic, Colombia, Peru and others, to learn about the problems of the student movement at the continental level, Padilla. comment.

He explained that the conference would culminate in a march to the historic center of Quito to demand funds and in favor of amending the Basic Law of Higher Education.

Padilla stressed that, in addition, they would present to the executive branch a plan against the current insecurity in the country, which in his opinion is a structural problem due to the lack of policies that promote education, employment and adequate social rehabilitation.

We have six million unemployed and one million high school graduates outside universities, and it has been proven that when the doors of higher education are not opened and job offers are not guaranteed, insecurity deepens, as the representative of the federation emphasized in his statements to this agency.

Congress and mobilization occur while the national government promotes a series of adjustment measures that, in the opinion of the FEUE, respond to the interests of the IMF and lead to a weakening of public education in favor of private groups.
