WASHINGTON – The State Department already has a list of 2023 visa lottery recipients.

Up to 55,000 visas have been withdrawn to legally immigrate to the United States.

Applicants selected into the program must meet simple but stringent requirements. The State Department has identified those chosen at random, who will have until September 30, 2022 to see if they have been selected.

The Department of State distributes visas across six geographic regions, and no country can have more than 7% of their available DV in any given year.

Participants will have until September 30, 2022 to see if an agreement has been made

For the DV-2023, nationals of the following countries are not eligible to apply, because more than 50,000 people have immigrated to the United States in the past five years:

Bangladesh, Brazil, Canada, China (including Hong Kong), Colombia, Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Haiti, Honduras, India, Jamaica, Mexico, Nigeria, Pakistan, Philippines, South Korea, United Kingdom (and its territories), Venezuela and Viet Nam.

List of eligible countries to participate: Antigua and Barbuda, Argentina, Barbados, Belize, Bolivia, Chile, Costa Rica, Cuba, Dominica, Ecuador, Grenada, Guatemala, Guyana, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, and Saint Vincent and the Islands Grenadines, Suriname, Trinidad and Tobago, and Uruguay
