WhatsApp te dejará guardar los mensajes temporales que supuestamente se auto-eliminan

WhatsApp will let you save temporary messages that are supposed to be deleted automatically

Since 2020, WhatsApp has an option that allows you to program text messages to be automatically deleted in the conversation, or multimedia materials such as photos and videos that have been deleted after seeing them once. Once activated, new messages sent in the chat disappear after a period of time set by the sender, from 24 hours to 90 days, whether you want to delete them in one day or from one to three months.

But here’s the curious thing, because if the main goal of temporary messages is to be able to send content that you know will disappear after their viewing period is over, what’s the point of putting in a new option to be able to save those temporary messages like the one I discovered from WABetaInfo.

Eternal Temporary Messages

As they discovered on WABetaInfoWhatsApp is working on a new introduction to saved messages, a feature that will make a temporarily disappear message become a standard WhatsApp message, so you can stay in the chat even after it expires.

Canned messages can be viewed under chat info in a new section called Canned Messages, and anyone in the conversation can open that section. When Hide Messages is enabled in a particular chat, hidden messages cannot be starred, but can only be kept.

It will be possible to prevent disappearing messages from automatically deleting for everyone in the conversation, but everyone can also undo the message for other people later. Also, WhatsApp will allow group admins to limit this feature, so there will likely be a new privacy setting that will allow group admins to turn on the ability to prevent a message from disappearing.
