When you can’t install panels on your roof, you’re ordering them remotely

Either because you live for rent, because the rest of the community doesn’t want to install them or because you simply can’t afford to install solar panels. Despite its advantages, not everyone produces photovoltaic energy in their buildings. Fortunately for those who are still interested, there are solutions to getting solar energy even if we don’t have panels on our roof.

What is teleself consumption? This solution does not require the installation of solar panels in our home. Remote solar self-consumption consists of obtaining this energy from a nearby photovoltaic park, although the distance can be a few kilometers.

What we get is the rights to exploit a set number of solar panels. Depending on the energy we need, we will have to pay for one number of panels or another, but the fact that this energy is produced at a distance does not affect the energy.

Should more power than that generated with these panels be used, we would be charged at market rate for what was used in excess.

It doesn’t matter where we live anymore. Let’s imagine that there is almost no sun in our building. Thanks to remote self-consumption it is also possible to obtain solar energy. We are facing a kind of “rental” of solar panels. Instead of buying them for our home, what we do is buy them but ask them to make them work for us and immediately send us that energy.

This energy produced by the panels is transmitted to the common electric grid and a few small adjustments are needed in our home for the solar energy we contract to remotely to arrive.

The practice is still a bit stretched. The main problem with solar self-consumption is that it is still very green. There are some companies that offer this option, but PV parks are limited and located in select locations.

In the case of Comunidad Solar, they have three parks in the region of Murcia and Palencia with a total capacity of 3.2 MW. They are in the process of expanding to Menorca and Talavera de la Reina. In the case of the SolarPack, with the Click & Go option, it has a solar park in Tejeda de Tiétar, Cáceres. The latter has a capacity of 10 megawatts and produces energy for the consumption of about 5,000 homes.

Traditional self-consumption is still better. This practice is when we cannot install solar panels at home. It should be borne in mind that today there are large self-consumption subsidies that significantly reduce costs.

Remote self consumption causes dependence on third parties that we don’t have with the paintings at home. On an economic level, there is also a difference because although it does not require such a high initial investment, you still have to pay for those solar panels.
