More than two million garment steamers sold in the United States and Canada were recalled Thursday after it was discovered that they could spew hot water while turned on or while in use, posing a burn risk.
According to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), the recall affects Steamfast, Vornado, and Sharper Image vaporizers. Many of the recalled products were sold at Bed Bath & Beyond, Walmart and Amazon at a cost between $14 and $35.
This announcement comes after the committee received 122 reports of hot water spray or water jets coming from the nozzle. The number includes 23 reports of burn injuries.
In addition to the 2 million vaporizers recalled, 13,000 devices were sold in Canada.
