A call for the global convoy against the US blockade of Cuba

A call for the global convoy against the US blockade of Cuba

Today the Puentes de Amor Solidarity movement called for the creation of a new global convoy against the US blockade of Cuba on July 31, of which the city of Miami will be the center.

In the appeal, which was broadcast on social networks, the group led by Professor Carlos Lazo called on all people of good will to join this initiative for the benefit of the Cuban family.

“Let’s go together,” said the audiovisual program posted on the Internet by Puentes de Amor, as the claim repeated: “Down with the embargo against Cuba! “

Caravan participants will gather on Sunday morning in the Coral Gables area, an event that will be repeated in various cities in the United States and in countries such as Canada, Mexico, South Africa, Belgium, Argentina, Brazil, Italy, Japan, Spain, among others.

At the last weekend of every month, the President of the United States, Joe Biden, is repeatedly asked to lift all sanctions against Cuba, and to remove the unilateral blockade that White House governments have imposed on the island for more than six decades. Are they Democrats or Republicans.

Puentes de Amor is part of a growing wave in and out of North American territory demanding an end to the blockade and for both parties to advance down the path of understanding.

Biden promised to reverse the failed policies toward Cuba of his predecessor, Donald Trump, but 18 months after his accession to the executive palace, there were no signs in that direction.

On May 16, the Democratic administration announced some measures regarding visas, regular immigration, flights to Cuban provinces, remittances, and amendments to regulations for transactions with the non-state sector which were well received; But they did not touch the essence of the siege.

Cuban authorities expressed in this regard that it is a limited step in the right direction, but the announcements do not modify the embargo at all, nor the main measures of economic suffocation taken by Trump.

In this sense, Havana denounced the retention of the lists of entities that are subject to additional coercive measures and the failure to repeal the travel ban imposed on Americans.

Nor does it reflect the arbitrary and fraudulent inclusion of Cuba on the State Department’s list of countries allegedly sponsoring terrorism.

The Cuban Ministry of Foreign Affairs has warned that the above is one of the main reasons for the difficulties that the Caribbean country faces in its commercial and financial transactions in many parts of the world.
