A new documentary series that will commemorate 30 years of Britpop

Britpop, the alternative rock genre born in the early 90s, led by bands such as Oasis or Blur, will celebrate its 30th anniversary. A new documentary series will be launched this weekend that promises to cover its origins, development and significance. It comes to Britpop: The Music That Changed Britain (Britpop: The Music That Changed Britain).

The program will feature exclusive interviews with the “key players” in the scene and tell us about the rise of these personalities and bands over the years. The “fascinating behind-the-scenes stories” will be told from “rare and unpublished archives of all the biggest names of the time”.

We will see bands like Blur, Oasis, Suede and Elastica bring back memories of the genre’s golden years and their musical life journeys in their country of origin. Likewise, the first episode will narrate the first steps of Britpop, delving into the rivalries between these bands and even their members. Notable exponents include Alex James and Dave Rowntree, of Blur, who will review the creation of their third studio album, park life and the “disastrous” initial tour for the album.

Britpop: The Music That Changed Britain It will arrive on Sunday March 12th. No other details are known yet, but we do know that the documentary is four episodes long.

Noel Gallagher recently revealed that he would “never say” an Oasis reunion despite the decades-long turbulent relationship he has had with his brother Liam, noting that “there must have been an extraordinary set of circumstances.” For its part, Blur plans to return to the stage with a tour that will begin with two shows at Wembley Stadium in London, England. They also plan to make some stops in Italy, Ireland, Norway and France.
