Mexico City, December 7, 2021 – At the opening of the Science and Technology in Society (STS) Forum for Latin America and the Caribbean, promoted by Japan, Christian Morales highlighted the importance of more resilient health systems; It aims to provide universal access to health and universal health coverage with quality services, organized into integrated networks to provide health services on the basis of Primary health care, with adequate funding, adequate human resources and, not least, appropriate technologies at every level of the health system including medicines, vaccines and medical equipment.

For this to happen, it is important to put a file right to health As a central hub of the health system, with strong public funding to move the health system from a focus on disease to a broader approach, where the needs of individuals, their families and communities are a primary concern of the health system.

We must work to achieve a health system that encourages an increase in the capabilities of the private sector to innovate and produce the necessary medicines, vaccines and medical equipment.

The forum, sponsored by Japan, seeks to highlight the impact of technological and scientific diplomacy as well as new approaches to address the common challenges faced by society, through cooperation to promote sustainable development, reduce inequality and improve the well-being of societies. .
