Atari Gamestation Plus, the new console is betting on the revival of old video games of the pear year

Atari Gamestation Plus, the new console is betting on the revival of old video games of the pear year

The retro video game market is not going back. While the prices of original appliances continue to rise, arguing in some commercials that they are “rare and collectible” pieces, some contemporary bets seek to give new life to those outdated proposals that refuse to be forgotten.

Atari, the iconic company that has died on more than one occasion, will now propose a new piece called the Atari Gamestation Plus, a console that it will make in conjunction with the My Arcade company, known for its mini-games and retro handheld games.

Although there are not many details at the moment, the first image shows that the Gamestation Plus will not look like the classic Atari console, leaving behind the retro look of its box, although it will maintain the look of the classic joysticks.

The promise is also that the console will contain games from the Atari 2600 that went on sale in 1977, the Atari 7800 from 1986 and arcade games released by the company. So far they haven’t touched on whether they will get games that use the old controls with a spinning wheel.

Keep in mind that this new proposal would arise after the multiple issues logged by the Atari VCS, an older console beset with problems including a lawsuit and crowdfunding problems, and that since 2017 has been tested at $300. Over time, supply has not kept up with demand, leaving many consumers unhappy.
