KANSAS CITY, MO – MJ Melendez and Emmanuel Rivera led in two rounds on Wednesday, leading the Brady Singer and the Kansas City Royals to an 8-4 victory over the Toronto Blue Jays.

The royal family snapped a three-game losing streak.

Singer gave up his home runs to Raimel Tapia and Zack Collins, but only allowed one more run in five rounds. He’s improved to 3-1 in his five starts, while the rest of the Kansas City rotation is 3-25 in 50 combined games.

The royals benefited from erratic starter Yossi Kikuchi, who only retired twice and gave up three runs in the first half. That number of touchdowns was twice more than Kansas City’s total in its previous four games against Toronto.
