Cuban Foreign Minister speaks to Al Jazeera Mission in the Dominican Republic – Escambrai

Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez on Friday spoke with members of the island’s government mission in the Dominican Republic, and briefed them on the situation in the country.

The chancellor spoke with the attendees about this Caribbean nation’s successful confrontation with the Covid pandemic, its drug vaccination process and efforts to conserve what has been achieved, not back down.

Likewise, he spoke about the country’s economic situation and how the opening, which began last November 15, should allow for a gradual recovery after the effects suffered by the epidemic and the intensification of the blockade by the United States government.

Finally, the head of Cuban diplomacy spoke about the “resistance and strength of the Cuban people who face media campaigns, lies and distortions of the national reality with firmness and determination, and show their commitment to the revolution.”

Rodriguez arrived in the Dominican Republic on Thursday to participate in the first meeting of Latin American foreign ministers, an event that took place on Friday in Santo Domingo.

On Saturday, the foreign minister scheduled a meeting with a representative of the Dominican Campaign for Solidarity with Cuba and the Cuban community in the country.
