Barcelona, Sep 4 (EFE).- Dubai-based Emirates airline (UAE) announced this Monday that it will renew its sponsorship with New Zealand, the defending champions, at the 37th America’s Cup in Barcelona in 2024. as well as all Preliminary Regattas and Challenger Selection Series.
The partnership between the two sides now spans nineteen years, with the New Zealand team winning the 35th America’s Cup in Bermuda and defending the title in Auckland (New Zealand) in the last edition of the regatta.
In this way, Emirates will continue to be the main sponsor of Emirates Team New Zealand, with naming rights for the team, as well as being the official airline and carrier of the team.
The airline joined the team as title sponsor in 2004 as they embarked on a journey to bring the America’s Cup back to New Zealand after losing in Auckland in the 2023 final against Swiss side Alinggi.
The airline continued its support in Valencia in 2007 and San Francisco in 2013, before Emirates Team New Zealand lifted the trophy again in Bermuda in 2017. EFE
