Food explores new areas of innovation at Alibetopas

The Spanish Federation of Food and Beverage Industries (FIAB) and Technology Food for Life Platform – Spain Celebration, supported by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food (MAPA), 8th edition Alibetopas: new areas in food and beverage. Alibetopas 2022 It brings together professionals associated with the food and beverage industry to share advances in innovation. In a context as demanding as the one we find ourselves in today, with a global energy and supply chain crisis, as well as the dangerous situation of inflation, companies strive to be as efficient as possible, turning innovation into an indispensable tool to achieve this objectively, as Mauricio Garca de Quevedo pointed out, Director General of FIAB.

For his part, Eduardo Cotias, Director of Research, Development and Innovation at FIAB, noted the importance of highlighting all the innovations that the food and beverage industry develops on a daily basis. Conferences like Alibetopas are today more necessary than ever, as they allow space for dialogue and collaboration so that all companies in the sector can incorporate the advances in research, development and innovation we see during the event into their business models. It is only through innovation, he explained, that companies can better adapt to uncertainties such as the current situation and better meet the challenges of the future.

The inauguration will be by Fernando Miranda, Secretary General of Agriculture and Food at the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, and Thomas Pascual, President of the International Football Association Board (FIAB). While the conference will be concluded by M. Angelis Ferry, Head of the Subsection of Scientific and Technical Thematic Programs of the State Agency for Innovation of the Ministry of Science and Innovation.

Alibetopas takes place next Thursday, October 27, at the Prxima Estación space in Madrid.

Industry professionals will attend Alibetopas to showcase business experiences with innovation as a lever for their business models. Part One will focus on entrepreneurship, with Ingenia Startup Awards winners from previous editions, and Ingredialia, Nucaps, Baia Foods and Vottun as champions at a table run by Maryam Bordeus, Director of Cleanity. In addition, the winners of the 2022 edition of these awards will be announced.

New technologies make up the second block of the event. Deuser will present the use of digital twins and data analytics to improve the production chain. In addition, with the help of Lantern, we will talk about new market niches, such as agricultural products. For its part, the Cartiv Foundation Technology Center will introduce the role of research and development in relation to European food systems. Also in this group, Food + i Cluster and Circular Economy Interplatform Group will talk about fostering innovation within technology groups and platforms.

Finally, the last group will focus on business cases, with a special presence for sustainable innovation. Supracaf will talk about how to address the environmental, social and economic challenges faced by the coffee sector by applying technologies that ensure the quality and profitability of operations. Nueva Pescanova Group will talk about collaborative innovation and its role in a new approach to business relations between suppliers, customers and collaborators.

For its part, Kimitec and its MAAVi Innovation Center will engage with the use of biotechnology innovations to achieve a more sustainable food and beverage production system. From a nutrition standpoint, Kerry Group’s Biosearch Life will showcase the group’s technological capabilities in developing innovative solutions for sustainable and healthy nutrition. Finally, FoodDrinkEurope, the union of the food and beverage industry at European level, will present opportunities for the sector in terms of funding within the strategic innovation agenda of the Partnership for Sustainable Food Systems that prepares the European Commission for the coming years.

The day also has an exhibitor space where innovative food and beverage products will be showcased to attendees, as well as projects in which the consortium is actively involved at national and international levels.
