Ford joins Catena-X and RSCI

Ford Europe Join two major supply chain initiatives that seek to set industry standards for sharing data between partners and assessing the sustainability of production sites.

first initiative Catena-X . Auto Network, created to improve sustainability and efficiency throughout the automotive supply chain through the continuous exchange of data between partners. The second is the initiative of a Responsible Supply Chain (RSCI)which provides tools, measures and support to achieve a more sustainable supply chain.

“Responsible, transparent and sustainable supply chains are key to successful change in the auto industry as we move toward an electric future,” he said. We are very pleased to be part of two innovative initiatives.”

Joining these initiatives is an important step for Ford to achieve carbon neutrality across its European footprint of facilities, logistics and suppliers by 2035. Also by 2035, Ford targets zero emissions for all car sales in Europe.

Catena-X . Auto Network

As a digital ecosystem and collaboration network, Catena-X will create uniform standards for the exchange of data and information throughout the automotive value chain. Ford joins a wide range of business and science partners in this unprecedented corporate collaboration in the auto industry.

Application areas include quality management, maintenance, supply chain management, and sustainability. The seamless flow of data between members and their global partners can improve problem management in the event of supply chain stresses, raw material shortages, and fast parts tracking and resolution. Ford’s participation in Catena-X will help the company improve sustainability, ensure compliance with human rights standards, and make supply chains more transparent.

Responsible supply chain

Ford is one of the 14 founding members of the VDA (Verband der Automobilindustrie) initiative.. The goal of the RSCI is to develop a standardized assessment to assess the sustainability of companies in automotive supply chains, including social compliance with working conditions, occupational safety and environmental protection.

Initiatives like RSCI give companies the opportunity to work with advanced and common industry standards for each company’s sustainability audit.
