Formula 1: Aston Martin confirms it aspires to continue Sebastian Vettel | Europe update | Dr..

On Wednesday (06.01.2022) Aston Martin Formula 1 team boss Mike Crake denied rumors about the possible signing of German Mick Schumacher to replace his compatriot Sebastian Vettel, the team’s current driver, in comments to RTL. channel / ntv.

“We are clear that we want to continue with Sebastian and everything else we will see later,” Crack said. There has been speculation recently that Schumacher, 23, could replace Vettel, 34, in the British team next season. Vettel’s contract expires at the end of this year.

Crack reiterated his interest in continuing to work with the four-time world champion. “When you have a driver like Sebastian, you have to try to keep him,” Luxemburger said. “He is a combination of superior driving quality and experience, and he is also a very positive person who pushes us forward.”

Chief Vettel praised the driver’s attitude despite the sporting problems of the Aston Martin, which has so far proven too slow: “Those who don’t want to drive don’t drive that way. Nobody acts like that if they don’t want to cut.” Vettel, with five points, is 15th in the drivers’ championship after seven races. (dpa/rtl)
