Genesal Energy enhances its international line of data centers with two generator sets on Isla Reunín

Galician company genetic energy Once again, it boosts its data center suite with two generator sets for Isla Reunín. These are two special pieces of equipment designed to measure the security of a data center on this heavenly French island located east of Madagascar, in the Indian Ocean.

Design, manufacturing and supply work for both groups was carried out at Genesal Energy’s headquarters in Coroa, more than 9,000 km from its final location. Both units are distinguished by maximum reliability, which is a prerequisite in this type of installation.

Genesal Energy explains that emergency power for data centers must be very private. They store something as valuable as information, we are talking about millions of data and if they are lost the consequences will be very serious from an economic point of view, of course, but also from a reputation point of view.

Therefore, in the event of a network failure, these centers must be protected. CPDs must have a supporting infrastructure that ensures that in the event of an eventual problem, the systems will continue to operate and this is exactly the function that our generators perform: they provide uninterruptible power to servers, switches, routers and other system components, as stated by the Engineering Department.

In the case of Isla Reunín, two Genesal Energy units were installed in 5500mm soundproofed cabins with an additional 2200mm metal unit or cabins to be assembled on site. Once joined, each additional cabin and unit formed a single block over 7,700 mm in length. In addition, due to the customer’s need to accommodate the 4000-liter tank inside, the additional cabin was also specifically developed, as they assure the company.

Like all kits intended to provide backup power to a data center, current legislation has been taken into account in the manufacturing process, both standards required by international regulations governing these centers, the Uptime Institute, and French law.

The fact is that since the island of Reunion is an expensive region, generating sets meet all the requirements of the French regulation NF-E-37-312, which in practice implies the implementation of a series of additional steps, among other things, the repetition of the operating system and batteries, with space It operates within the cabin and without available struts, creating a two-way transmission system that allows either group to use the other’s fuel indiscriminately.
