Google Photos Cleanup: Save your photos to your computer and free up storage space | Lifestyle

I have to admit that, like most of you, I rely on Google in my daily life. Services like Gmail or Drive are essential for me. Although there is a tool that is starting to bother me little by little: Google images.

Previously, when there were no limitations on storage space, my best companion was uploading all my photos and videos to the cloud. The problem is that since Google limited the capacity of free accounts, my account was saturated every three times.and without being able to receive emails, as Google unifies the space for all its tools.

Taking into account the current capacity of Google Photos, I decided to download all of my stock photos to save them on my computer. At the same time, free up storage space. If you have an Amazon Prime account, check out this article where we explain how to transfer all your photos and videos from Google Photos to Amazon Photos. Do you want to continue using the Google service? So don't miss this Extensions through which you can click on Google images.

Step 1: Save your photos and videos from Google Photos

The first thing we will do is save all our photos and videos from Google Photos. Therefore, We will use Google TakeOutyour online tool that allows you to save all the information in a very simple way.

To do this, go to their official website Through this link, and select the services you want to save. It's best to click Unselect All, located at the top left, and then scroll down to select just Google Photos.

Now, click Next Step. You will see different options, since we want to save it on the computer, you must leave the first option “Send the link via email”. Now all that remains is to verify and accept the data.

Keep in mind that this is not an instant process, Google will send you an email with the download link after a while. In my case, it took less than 2 hours for a total weight of 17GB, but this time may vary.

Once the images are finished downloading, You will already have all the information saved on your computer to access photos and videos from Google Photos on your computer. Finally, you'll need to delete the photos from Google Photos.

Unfortunately, the process is not very convenient, but we will tell you the trick: Highlight the first image and go to the end, holding down the Shift key and clicking on the last image, and you will select them all in a few seconds.

Now, finally, make sure that once you delete it, delete the Recycle Bin to free up space permanently.
