Health The health center of this town in Zamora is moving to an old bus station

Today, March 15, the Zamora Health Care Department began moving professionals and equipment from the “Aliste” Health Center, located in Alcañices, to its new temporary location in the old bus station. This change has been made with the aim of ensuring continuity of emergency services over the weekend, with them starting work at 3pm this afternoon.

The decision to change the location comes in response to the need to conduct comprehensive renovation works at the health center, an initiative promoted by the Ministry of Health with an investment exceeding 800 thousand euros. These reforms seek to improve the quality of care for both users and health professionals.

So the old bus station is the new location for handling emergencies starting from the time mentioned above. Regular consultations will resume next Monday, March 18, at 8:00 am.

To adapt the old bus station as a temporary health centre, the council made various improvements to ensure accessibility and safety. This includes the establishment of an admission and administration area, secretarial and multi-purpose consultations, urgent and emergency consultations, and a movement therapy room for the physical therapy unit, among other areas necessary for the smooth functioning of the centre.

Despite the relocation, the simple radiology service will continue to operate in its usual location due to restrictions in adapting to the new temporary building. However, the works are expected to have a minimal impact on the provision of this service, and may require temporary suspension for short periods of time.

It is important to note that all regular hours and days for consultations will be maintained, with the exception of the Social Work Unit, which will be held in person on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays of each week.
