New York, June 2 (EFE). – Iberdrola President, Ignacio Sánchez Galán, announced this Thursday at the Iberdrola USA (Avangrid) Board of Directors, held in Boston, that the Spanish company expects to invest $6000 million in New York State over the next three years.

The investment plan presented by the company’s New York distributors will allow the government regulator to “accelerate the investments needed to continue improving service and promote a more resilient electrical grid to weather extremes, as well as a smarter grid for clean energy integration essential to achieving New York’s decarbonization goals,” according to Iberdrola in statement.

Investments could reach $6000 million in the next three years, an amount that, according to the company, would double the average investment in recent years in New York.

Iberdrola has been in the United States for 15 years and has assets of over $40,000 million in 24 states in the country, serving more than 7 million people. EFE
