Ibero-Spanish Marina Colunga has appointed Sales Director for Latin America. Colunga has worked for various companies in the tourism sector, most recently Hilton, managing American hotel sales and marketing in Mexico and the Caribbean.

Similarly, Colunga has served in positions at Melia and Marriott, as well as Expedia. One of Colunga’s challenges is to implement the commercial strategy of the Spanish airline, as well as to lead the company’s growth process through 2023.

“It is an honor for me to take over the commercial direction of Iberia for Latin America, especially at a time when the region is in the strategic focus of the airline, taking actions not only to maintain leadership in the connection between Latin America and Spain, but to increase its market share, and in particular to position itself as the preferred choice for customers for their trips to Europe,” says Marina Colunga, Iberia Sales Director for Latin America.

Currently, Iberia has flights to 18 destinations in 16 countries within Latin America, to restore the full network of destinations that it had before the pandemic, thanks to the reopening of its lines to Rio de Janeiro and Caracas, and by mid-2023 it has already programmed the number of flights higher than pre-pandemic levels, with 260 direct weekly and, for the most part, daily flights between the region and Spain.

As mentioned REPORTUR.coIn 2023, Iberia intends to increase its frequencies in three Latin American countries such as Colombia, Peru and Argentina, after returning to Washington, Dallas and San Francisco in 2022. (Iberia: Latin countries where it will grow after launching three tracks in the USA).
