Israel bombs while preparing for the ground invasion of Rafah

Ramallah, February 11 (Prensa Latina) Today, the Israeli army bombed areas in the Gaza Strip, resulting in deaths and injuries, while tightening the siege around the southern Rafah governorate, where more than 1.5 million Palestinian refugees are taking refuge.

On the 128th day of the aggression against the coastal enclave, the armed forces of the neighboring country launched various air and artillery attacks.

According to health sources, at least 25 civilians were martyred and dozens injured during the past hours, as a result of an incursion into a house in the city of Rafah.

The official Wafa Agency reported that a woman was killed and a number of people, including a child, were injured in a similar incident in the city of Deir al-Balah.

He pointed out that fighter jets launched a series of attacks this morning in areas south of the city of Khan Yunis, the center of the Israeli ground attack that has now been advancing south for weeks.

The areas of Batn al-Samin Qizan al-Najjar Abu Rashwan in that town were bombed.

WAFA warned that aircraft are continuing to launch raids on the Rafah area, amid reports of an approaching invasion of the city, which is crowded with displaced people.

Medical sources reported last night that 42 Palestinians lost their lives in the town this Saturday alone.

In an interview with the American ABC television station, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu approved plans for an operation in the southern Gaza area, threats that sparked a wave of international condemnation and fears of a clash with Egypt.

Cairo has repeatedly warned that such action on its eastern borders could jeopardize the peace agreements between the two countries.

Since the beginning of the new wave of violence, on October 7, more than 28,000 people have been killed in Gaza and 67,000 have been injured.
