LinkedIn is testing a short video format similar to TikTok

Must Read

LinkedIn is testing a format for short videos similar to those featured on TikTok, which will be displayed in the feed and collected in a new tab on the main interface. Currently, the recruitment platform has four main sections: “Home”, “My Network”, “Messages”, “Jobs”, and “Notifications”. These appear followed by the User Account Settings section. The company is now testing a new section that brings together short-format videos, TikTok-style, as verified by the McKinney agency's strategy director, Austin Null, into the mobile app. Based on what you shared, the job search platform will display the new “Feed” in the navigation bar along with the new “Video” tab. Once accessed, the app will display videos in portrait format, which can be viewed by swiping. LinkedIn itself also confirmed the introduction of this feature, which is currently in the testing phase, via TechCrunch, though it did not share details on how it decides which videos will be shown in users' feeds. Likewise, this medium noted that according to LinkedIn, videos have become one of the formats in which users want to learn from professionals and experts, which is why it promoted them on the platform.
