Lula won his twenty-second victory in Brazilian stadiums

Brasilia-. Former President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva today demonstrated his 22nd victory in Brazilian courts, after a court in Sao Paulo closed the investigation of three of his sons due to lack of evidence.

The new victory of the founder of the Workers’ Party emerged after the Fifth Federal Criminal Court of São Paulo accepted the request of the Federal Public Ministry (MPF) and put an end to the investigation against Fabio Luis, Marcos Claudio and Sandro Luis Lula da Silva.

This investigation was based on alleged evidence manufactured in the field of the crippled Lava Jato judicial process and, accordingly, the Federal Supreme Court (STF) deemed invalid, due to suspicion of bias in the performance of the former judge, former Minister of Justice and future presidential candidate Sergio Moro.

According to news portal Brasil 247, the successive judicial victories of Lula and his family not only prove their innocence, but also testify to the severe legal and media persecution of which the former president was a victim.

The MPF accepted the defense’s argument that the investigation, which questioned Lula’s children for alleged tax evasion in connection with payments made between their companies, was based on material from Lava Jato.

Federal Judge Maria Isabel do Prado, of the aforementioned 5th Court, has identified another open police investigation file against the grandchildren of the former foreman.

‘Right in that defense. Attorney Raisa Castro Sanchez Rodriguez concluded that once the accusative elements of conviction in the original criminal proceedings that established the receipt of taxable income are recognized as illegal, the characterization of the offense of tax evasion is weakened.

Lula’s lawyers showed that the material used to open the investigation against the children came from Lava Jato in Curitiba, which the Supreme Court declared invalid after admitting the lack of jurisdiction of the 13th Federal Court in the southern city and Moro’s suspicion of abuse.

The former president regained all his political rights in March after an STF judge overturned his rulings and opened up the possibility of running for power in 2022.
