Microsoft Edge wants to improve the way it saves your web browsing history

Microsoft is testing a new feature in Edge that changes how users’ web history is saved.

A function that will be optional and can provide you with more details about the websites you have visited. We tell you what it is.

Microsoft Edge, like most web browsers, creates a web history of all the sites you visit while browsing. And of course, you can always clear your browsing data in Edge.

However, this dynamic makes it easy for you to return to the website you visited if you don’t remember the name or the URL. But there is still more.

A new way to save web history in Edge

The Microsoft team wants to make history more user-friendly with a new feature that you can turn on from Edge settings.

A feature already being tested on Edge’s Canary and Dev channels, which suggests saving screenshots of the sites you visit for history.

Microsoft has not provided many details about this functionality, other than that it wants it to be a new dynamic so that users can easily visit the website again from the screenshot.

On the one hand, this will allow users to see a web thumbnail by simply clicking on a URL from the history. A quick way to check if this is the web we are looking for without having to open it in a web browser.

These screenshots may allow us to access the page even when we are offline. Of course, Microsoft should support this feature with additional security measures, but we still don’t know exactly what dynamic it wants to implement in Edge.

This feature is currently being tested in beta versions of Microsoft’s web browser. It’s a function found in Edge settings, in the Settings > Privacy and Services section.

It is an option that is disabled by default, so the user must activate it if they are interested in seeing what Microsoft Edge has to offer with this dynamic. And of course, even when it is activated, it can be disabled at any time.
