MWC 2023: Telefónica presents “LaCabina”, a new avant-garde space for technological testing | Economie

Telefónica presented on Tuesday at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona its new project cabin, a space of 2,000 square meters located in the Innovation and Talent Center of the Group at its headquarters in District C of Madrid, with the aim of carrying out tests using the latest technology. The space will be inspired by phone booths and will contain more than 180 technology experiments, some of which were presented two years before their commercial development, according to the company.

In addition, it has an exclusive 5G SA network dedicated to space and radio in the medium and millimeter ranges, where technologies such as network segmentation can be tested.

Open Gateway is the initiative presented by the GSMA at MWC where operators open access to their telecom capabilities to transform their networks into interoperable and programmable platforms through open, unified APIs (protocols for building applications). Under the name Open Gateway Activation Programme, Telefónica seeks to accelerate innovation in the sector Telecom Company and promote growth startup companies that have been identified. To achieve this goal, those companies that obtain access will have free and privileged access to the Adopter Program (EAP) launched by Telefónica in collaboration with Microsoft Azure, AWS, Google Cloud and Vonage where developers will have exclusive access to a new generation of communication services through interfaces Open, interoperable application programming with real use cases.

Similarly, the startup companies The selected persons will have potential investment opportunities between 100,000 and 5 million euros through Telefónica’s open innovative investment vehicles.
