British Foreign Secretary David Cameron said on Tuesday that the campaign to weaken the Houthis' military capabilities will continue, after the United States and the United Kingdom carried out another round of attacks on Monday.

He added: “Since our last action, 10 days ago, there have been more than 12 attacks on ships by the Houthis in the Red Sea. These attacks are illegal and unacceptable, and what we did, once again, was to send the clearest message possible.” Cameron told the media on Tuesday: “We will continue to downplay their ability to carry out these attacks, while at the same time sending the clearest possible message that we back up our words and warnings with action.”

Cameron added that in addition to the recent air strikes, the UK would use “a full range of measures”, including the Royal Navy in the Red Sea and sanctions, to increase pressure on the Houthis.

Four Royal Air Force FGR4 Typhoon aircraft, supported by a pair of Voyager air transport aircraft, on Monday joined US forces in a deliberate attack on Houthi positions in Yemen, the British Ministry of Defense said in a press release.

This was a smaller number than the first joint operation on January 11, which attacked more than 30 Houthi targets.
