Opera’s native Aria AI can now be used on Android smartphones

Opera has released the mobile version of its new in-browser artificial intelligence (AI), Aria, which was recently released on desktop for Windows, Mac and Linux PCs.

The Norwegian company behind this browser introduced the technology at the end of May, when it commented that this generative AI would allow users to interact with the web through a chat interface.

Aria is based on the Composer infrastructure, developed in-house, and is complemented by collaboration with OpenAI and its proprietary GPT technology. In this way, AI can provide the functions achieved, such as updated results, as well as script generation and even code.

Opera emphasized that Composer has the potential to expand, so it is expected that “in the future” it will integrate other smart functions, such as search services provided by other partners of the company.

Aria arrived a few days ago in the desktop version of the browser, which has been modified and renamed Opera One, debuting a modular architecture and design and is now available for download on Windows, Mac and Linux.

Now, this generative technology has reached Android terminals and includes services like Free VPN and VPN Pro, as well as an integrated ad blocker, Opera commented in a press release.

To access this AI, users have to sign in with their Opera account — if they don’t have one, they have to sign up in advance — and once they’ve taken that step, they just have to open the browser’s AI in the main menu.
