Presenting the eighth edition of the “Mujeres Emprendedoras” programme.

Guatemala. Portales, in partnership with BAC Credomatic, the Guatemalan Municipality and Wonder Woman, has announced its Women Entrepreneurs program, which seeks to empower women to gain the tools to take their businesses to the next level.

The program was born out of a desire to support all women who have a business and want to promote it to go beyond their goals. It is made up of different workshops that will be taught by Wonder Woman and BAC Credomatic.

This program will reward 7 women, 6 of whom will win space in a mini-market in Portales and 1 will be given a booth to sell their products in Portales in the highest season of the year. The winner will also receive a ticket to the Volcano Innovation Summit 2023 and a photo session for their products. In addition to a toolkit for promoting women’s financial inclusion and development from BAC Credomatic, a photo session and video of their products; Image consultations with an agency and exposure in various media.

“We are very excited to start another year’s Women Entrepreneurs Program, this is the eighth edition and so far we have been able to support, train and give more than 600 women a boost to their businesses. Seeing their projects grow and evolve in the industry fills us with great satisfaction and joy, and that is definitely invaluable.” Lourdes Quezada, Director of Portales commented.

Within the programme, registered entrepreneurs will have the opportunity to receive various workshops, which will allow them to expand their knowledge and apply it in the final competition. Entrepreneurs will learn to identify their business models and innovations, build an image for them and organize their finances; This is supported by Wonder Woman and BAC Credomatic. The workshops will take place from 20 to 22 September.

“Once again, we were able to join forces with BAC Credomatic and Wonder Woman, this year we also have the support of the Guatemalan municipality, and this will be beneficial for us to reach more women who want to participate in this wonderful program that today is promoting Portales,” Quezada highlighted.

From September 22-25, entrepreneurs will have to submit their video to introduce themselves and publish their business ideas, which will allow them to choose to be one of the finalists for the program. On October 5, 20 selected entrepreneurs will have the opportunity to sell their products in the main plaza in Portales, to be judged by the judges, and thus will be one of the seven winners of the Women Entrepreneurs 2022 competition.
