BEIJING, Oct 31 (RHC) The government of China has rejected the report of the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI) of the United States on the origin of the novel coronavirus.
“The report of the US intelligence services on the origin of the coronavirus is politicized and lacks credibility. Wenbin,” said Wang, a Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman.
In a report published Friday, the US ODNI office ruled out genetic modification for COVID-19, indicating that the two main theories about the origin of the coronavirus, whether natural or laboratory, may be correct.
In this regard, the Chinese diplomat refused to “use the intelligence services to investigate the origin of the Corona virus,” which, according to him, is considered iron evidence of “politicizing” the subject.
After noting the support of more than 80 countries for a study conducted jointly by specialists from his country and the World Health Organization in the Chinese city of Wuhan, earlier this year, Wang accused the United States of ignoring the opinion of the international community and remaining obsessed with political manipulation.

He stressed that the investigation into the origin of the Corona virus is in fact a serious scientific matter, and it can only be resolved through the cooperation of scientists from the entire international community. He warned that political manipulation of the problem “may harm scientific cooperation, undermine exchanges in the fight against the epidemic, and cause more human casualties.”
In May, US President Joe Biden ordered intelligence officials to investigate the origins of the virus, including the laboratory leak theory, which was met with sharp rebuff from China.
