The products offer powerful features for a more environmentally conscious user experience

Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. today introduced the A-40% washing machine and EHS Mono R290 heat pump at IFA 2023 in Berlin, Germany, one of the world’s largest trade shows for consumer electronics and home appliances. The launch of the A-40% washing machine and EHS Mono R290 heat pump demonstrates Samsung’s efforts to promote an energy-efficient and eco-friendly lifestyle.

More and more consumers are taking into consideration the environmental impact of the products they use and taking these considerations when purchasing home appliances. With the launch of the A-40% and EHS Mono R290 washing machine, Samsung is contributing to meeting the needs of environmentally conscious consumers.

A- Washing machine by 40%: to increase energy efficiency

The new range of Samsung washing machines for next year will include models that consume up to 40% less energy than necessary to reach the Energy Efficiency Class A limit. Its advanced technologies intelligently optimize washing performance and reduce energy use, while providing a loading capacity of up to 10kg and a customized design. The A-40 washing machine will be available in European markets from the first quarter of 2024.

The washing machine will offer SmartThings connectivity that can reduce energy usage through AI power mode In SmartThings Energy. It allows users to easily check daily, weekly and monthly energy consumption and calculate monthly electricity bills. For courses that can run in AI Power Mode, the washing machine intelligently reduces energy use by up to 70% by using Ecobubble™ to wash with cold water instead of hot water and extra cycle time.

The A-40% washing machine comes with AI Wash technology, which consists of advanced laundry detection capabilities to improve washing performance and reduce waste. It effectively controls the amount of water and detergent by detecting the weight, softness of the fabric and dirt level. It does this by intelligently optimizing the amount of water and detergent and constantly adjusting soaking, rinsing and spinning times to get the best results quickly and efficiently.

Additionally, the super-speed cycle allows users to wash their clothes thoroughly while significantly reducing the cycle time. This cycle is completed in 39 minutes without compromising performance. This is achieved thanks to the integrated speed spray, which speeds up washing and rinsing by releasing powerful jets of water to quickly reach the clothes.

EHS MONO R290: Reliable heating and lower energy costs

Samsung’s latest addition to its heat pump offerings, the EHS Mono R290, uses R290 as the refrigerant, which has a much lower global warming potential (GWP) than other refrigerants.

The EHS Mono R290 can supply hot water at up to 75°C for home heating. This can make it a suitable replacement for the heating system of older residential spaces that previously relied on gas boilers for their heating needs.

Additionally, the EHS Mono R290 has an expanded heat exchanger capable of transferring more heat at a time than a traditional outdoor unit. The heat transfer area is up to 39% larger. As a result, it provides reliable heating performance, enabling it to deliver 100% heating performance at temperatures as low as -10°C.

Another feature that can reduce power consumption is AI power mode. By learning the user’s usage patterns, it adjusts the temperature of domestic hot water (DHW) and provides the user with the same level of heat without consuming as much energy.
