Talks between Russia and Ukraine may continue on Monday – Juventud Rebeldy

Telesur reports that the third round of Russian-Ukrainian negotiations to search for a solution to the bilateral conflict and cessation of hostilities will be held on March 7, a member of the delegation of this country has informed.

MP David Aragamia, head of the parliamentary faction of the ruling Servant of the People Party and a member of the Kyiv negotiating team, posted on his page on the social network Facebook, that the next meeting will be on Monday at the Belarusian-Polish border.

The first round of dialogue was held on February 28 and the second on March 3, both on Belarusian soil. In the latter, Kyiv and Moscow agreed to establish humanitarian corridors for the evacuation of civilians, a ceasefire during the transportation of people, as well as the delivery of food and medicine.

On Sunday, the two sides will try to open the humanitarian corridors to the cities of Mariupol and Volnovaka, in southeastern Ukraine, which were halted yesterday due to the military clashes that did not stop, according to Russian and Ukrainian accusations.

The Russian Defense Ministry accused national groups of preventing the evacuation of civilians in these cities, as it confirmed the presence of heavy weapons fire from residential neighborhoods and the use of residents as human shields.

Moscow launched a military operation in Ukraine on February 24, after the authorities of the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) and Luhansk (LPR) requested assistance to repel Kyiv’s aggression.

Prior to this, Russia recognized the independence and sovereignty of both territories and signed treaties of friendship, cooperation and mutual assistance with its leaders, which included the establishment of diplomatic relations and military assistance.

Russian President Vladimir Putin, in a televised address to report on the start of the operation, stated that the goal is to protect the Donbass population from violations and genocide committed by Kyiv over the past eight years and to “disarm” Ukraine.

According to the Russian Armed Forces, the attacks target military infrastructure, air defense facilities, airports and military aviation. He stressed that the civilian population of Ukraine is not under threat.
