The death of Taylor Hawkins, drummer for the rock band Foo Fighters, keeps the music industry in mourning. The artist was found dead in a hotel in Bogota, Colombia, on the night of Friday, March 25.

At the age of 50, Hawkins was one of the members of the legendary group known for great songs such as “The Pretender”, “Walk”, “Everlong” or “Best of You”.

The girl, also passionate about drums, waited several hours outside the hotel where the group was staying in the Paraguayan capital, on March 22.

According to videos that were broadcast on social media, 9-year-old Emma had no problem playing her drums while the band’s followers sang “The Pretender” in the chorus.

Her percussion instrument skills caught the attention of Hawkins, who left the hotel, looked for the minor, approached her and greeted her with a smile he remembered and took a photo.

“My daughter, since she knew the Foo Fighters were coming, started a campaign to meet them. Today we take his drums to play in front of the Sheraton and look who came out on his call,” Emma’s father wrote on Twitter.

In the photo, which has achieved more than 230 thousand “likes”, the girl is seen smiling next to her biggest inspiration.

‘No words’

After learning of the musician’s death, Emma’s father spoke on the networks and said that his daughter still did not know the sad news.

“There are no words to describe how we feel. The news of Taylor Hawkins’ passing has broken our hearts, and our hearts are with her loved ones and fans,” she wrote in an Instagram post.
