The CARICOM conference is coming to an end in Guyana

GEORGE TOWN: Leaders of the Caribbean Community (CARIB) today conclude their 46th conference in Guyana, after three days of intense discussions on the major problems in the region to identify strategies to overcome them.

Apart from the Heads of Government of the region, representatives of countries from Africa, the Middle East, Europe and North America attended this meeting to expand contacts with the peoples of the Caribbean and explore possibilities for cooperation.

The President of Brazil, Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, will join the closing day on Wednesday, and will also hold working meetings with his Guyanese counterpart, Irfan Ali, and his Surinamese counterpart, Chan Santokhi, to discuss matters of bilateral and trilateral interest.

This meeting will conclude with a press conference at the end of the afternoon, during which the group's leaders are expected to present the results and consensuses reached.

The 46th CARICOM Heads of Government Conference has been extended from Sunday to focus on deepening regional integration and better promoting the interests of Caribbean peoples in the international arena.

This space defines the political orientations of the group, concludes treaties of interest and establishes relations with other international organizations and states around the world.
