Inge Peru has announced, through its social networks, a major achievement in the promotion of clean energy in the country. Thus, he reported that as of 00:00 on June 16, 2023, the Punta Lomitas (Ica) wind farm has come into commercial operation, providing 260 MW of 100% renewable energy to the country.

In this way, they reaffirmed their commitment to the state by betting on the development of the energy sector, accompanying their customers and contributing to the growth of renewable energies with a reliable energy transition.

Together, let’s go towards net zero carbon!

The aforementioned wind farm has an investment of nearly 300 million US dollars and its construction is in charge of Cosapi. It has two electrical substations and 60 km of transmission lines connecting the station to the National Interconnected Electrical System (SEIN).

This unconventional renewable energy project is the largest in the country to date, as ENGIE will provide 100% renewable energy for the Anglo American Quelavico mine. In addition, it is estimated that it will avoid emitting 230,000 tons of greenhouse gases annually and provide approximately 1.7 GWh per year of clean energy and reduce the country’s carbon footprint by offsetting greenhouse gas emissions.
