US futures contracts lower; Highlighting Bank of America Profits By Benzinga Spain

Moves before opening US stock futures are trading in red in early trading prior to the regular trading session after dropping two points in the previous session. Investors are waiting for earnings results from Bank of America Corporation (NYSE: NYSE: :), The Charles Schwab Corporation (NYSE: NYSE: :), Hunt Transportation Services (NASDAQ: JBHT) and Bank of New York Mellon Foundation (NYSE 🙂 (NYSE: BK).

The Housing Market Index for April is due to be released at 10:00 ET. The President of the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis, James Bullard, will give a speech at 16:00 ET.

The Industrial Average futures fell 78 points to 34,280, while the S&P 500 futures fell 17.75 points to 4,369.75. Nasdaq futures fell 78.50 points to 13,815.25 points.

Oil prices are trading lower, on a day when futures fell 0.3% to $111.36 a barrel, while US futures fell 0.3% to $106.65 a barrel.

The United States remains the country with the highest number of coronavirus infections and deaths in the world, with the total number of infections exceeding 8,2316,340 and nearly 1,015,450 deaths. India has reported nearly 43,044,280 confirmed cases, while Brazil has recorded more than 30,252,610 cases.

International Markets at a Glance Most European markets are closed today for the Easter holiday.

On the other hand, Asian markets are trading lower today. Japan’s index was down 1.08%, while China’s Shanghai Composite was down 0.5%. India’s BSE Index fell 2.1%. The annual rate of wholesale price inflation in India rose to a four-month high of 14.55% in March from 13.11% in the previous month. China’s retail trade fell 3.5% year-on-year in March, while the country’s industrial production rose 5% year-on-year in March. The Chinese economy grew by 4.8% year-on-year in the first quarter of 2022.
