Bolivia's vice president warns of coup plots

Victory in Arizona brings Democrats closer to controlling the US Senate

WASHINGTON, Nov. 12 (Princea Latina) The US Democratic Party won another Senate seat today, after Senator Mark Kelly was re-elected in Arizona in the midterm elections.

With this victory, the Democrats tied the Republicans to 49 senators and would be just one seat away from maintaining their control of the Senate, if the victory in Nevada were to be achieved.

The vote count in the latter state is very narrow, with Democratic Senator Catherine Cortez Masto getting closer to Republican Adam Laxalt, the state’s former attorney general.

CNN reports that the race in Georgia between Democratic Senator Raphael Warnock and Republican Herschel Walker will be decided in the December 6 runoff.

If the Democrats win either of the remaining two races, they will retain control of the Senate in Congress because only US Vice President Kamala Harris can cast her vote to achieve the runoff.

However, Republicans can still control the House as vote counting continues in a few districts after Tuesday’s election.

The November 8 polls will re-establish Congress’ control of the resolution for 35 of the 100 seats in the Senate and 435 in the House of Representatives.

In turn, Americans have voted for the fate of 36 states and a host of key positions in the state, from secretaries of state to Supreme Court justices, that will undoubtedly affect the rest of Joe Biden’s presidency as well.

Analysts estimate that the resistance shown by the Democratic Party so far against the Republican in this competition prevented the process from being considered a defeat for the US President.
