[Video] Behind the scenes with Corning® Gorilla® Armor – How the Galaxy S24 Ultra's display stays in place and resists glare

In a new video, Samsung Electronics takes viewers behind the scenes to witness the technical precision and advanced engineering behind Corning® Gorilla® Armor – an advanced scratch- and glare-resistant glass developed exclusively for Galaxy S24 Ultra.

Featuring the latest example of Corning Incorporated's innovative technology, the video captures the display's extraordinary optics, incredible durability and next-level clarity.

Corning® Gorilla® Armor is the result of a painstaking process that covers the glass surface with special ions in nanometer layers, each thinner than a human hair. The finished product is a high-tech material that reduces reflection by up to 75%, making the screen more readable and reducing reflections even in bright sunlight or indoors.

This process makes the glass screen durable, so users of the latest Galaxy smartphones can enjoy greater protection against everyday wear and tear that gradually damages screens over time. In Corning laboratory testing, Corning® Gorilla® Armor was found to be four times more scratch resistant than competitive aluminosilicate viewing glasses. [1].

Another interesting detail is the way Corning manufactures this exceptional display material in an ultra-clean environment with vacuum deposition systems. It is the same technology that Samsung uses to manufacture semiconductors.

For more than 50 years, Samsung and Corning have worked together to create innovative display materials. Learn more in the following video.
