WhatsApp announces new functionality to integrate into group calls

A few months ago, WhatsApp launched the first phase of group calls with the option to join when it actually started. Today they surprise us by improving the experience of this function by integrating with group chats.

You can now join group calls effortlessly, right from the chat tab. With the rise in popularity of group calling, the Merge The call feature that you can join once initiated gives WhatsApp users a new spontaneous way to connect with their friends and family groups.

What is changing:

• Could you To call to a WhatsApp group and join the call directly from the group chat.
• The notification will give you the group name instead of the participants’ names.
• Only people who are part of the group can join the call.
• The call will be displayed in the chat list, so people can see which groups have calls in progress as soon as they open the app.
• The ringtone will be different and more clear. Make it look as light as sending and receiving messages.
