Adoption of the World Tourism Organization’s plan for the future of tourism

Guterres noted, ‘Congratulations OMT Secretary General Pololikashvili and I hope that the decisions taken in the General Assembly will help restore confidence in travel and make the world move safely so that developing economies can reap the benefits of sustainable tourism.

Member states voted personally to approve the appointment of Mr. Pololikashvili by the UNWTO Executive Board as Secretary-General for a second term, and thanks to this very positive vote, Pololikashvili will lead the World Tourism Organization from 2022 to 2025.
