China Airlines is preparing new international routes

These changes come after the State Council (Cabinet) approved a package of measures to revitalize the economy and support industries hard hit by the restrictions adopted in the standoff with Covid-19 in the Asian country.

In the case of civil aviation, the plan considers handing over five billion yuan ($735 million) in subsidies to all domestic airlines, without discrimination.

Although it was launched by the Ministry of Finance yesterday, it came into effect retroactively from May 21 and will run until July 20, when the peak summer travel season begins.

However, if the current outbreak of Covid-19 is brought under control before that date, and airlines can normalize their operations, the government will reduce subsidies and respect the fundamental rules of the market.
