Coronavirus in Peru: Ministry of Health announces one death and 242 new cases of COVID-19 in the past 24 hours RMMN | gear

The Ministry of Health Today, Friday, June 3, Mensa reported that a total of 213,228 people have died from COVID-19 in the country within the last 24 hours. With this number, the number of deaths from the deadly virus in Peru increased by 1. In addition, 799 infections were recorded in the past week (242 in the past 24 hours), bringing the total number of infected people to 3583,403.

Mensa also reported that there are a total of 738 patients in hospital, of whom 164 are on mechanical ventilation in the intensive care unit (ICU).

Vaccinations in Peru

To date, Peru has received more than 26 million vaccines from Sinopharm, more than 40 million vaccines from Pfizer, and more than 5 million vaccines from AstraZeneca. All of these are implemented as per the programs by age groups set by the government after giving priority to health workers, senior citizens, members of the national police, armed forces and firefighters.

Immunization began in Peru in February, after the first batch of vaccines arrived from China (Sinopharm). To date, vaccination continues throughout the country.

In Lima, Callao and other regions children are already vaccinated up to the age of five. So far, the third dose is given to people 12 years of age and older and the fourth dose to people over 50 years old.
