NEW YORK – New York City police said authorities arrested a driver for allegedly hitting a bicyclist early Sunday morning in Manhattan.

Police said Sunday night that Edgar Maeda Luca, 24, was charged with leaving the scene of an accident that resulted in the death. The victim, 38-year-old Carlos García Ramos, was declared dead in hospital.

According to the police report, the accident occurred around 1:22 am. When the authorities answered a call regarding an unconscious man in front of him 241 West 24th Street in Chelsea. Upon arrival, they found the victim with head and body trauma.
