London, May 29 (EFE). – British singer Ed Sheeran sings his song “Perfect” in honor of Queen Elizabeth II and her late husband, the Duke of Edinburgh, in celebrations scheduled for next weekend on this occasion. The platinum jubilee of the king – seventy years on the throne.

As part of the scheduled events, as the final climax to the parade that will take place next Sunday in the streets of London, before the national anthem is played, Sheeran will sing the romantic poem while portraying the King and Prince Philip.

The Duke of Edinburgh, who died in April last year at the age of 99, and the Queen, 96, have been married for 73 years.

During the jubilee celebrations, there will also be other events paying tribute to Prince Philip, such as the Bollywood-inspired performance of the Queen and her husband on their wedding day in 1947.

This show will feature a 6-meter wedding cake, and will be accompanied by 250 Bollywood dancers.

In 2012, when the diamond jubilee – 60 years on the throne – was celebrated – the Queen was accompanied by her husband during festivities that then included a parade of a fleet of a thousand boats that sailed the Thames.

The Queen was only 13 when she first met Philip, 18, during a visit to the Royal Naval College in Dartmouth, where the Duke was studying.

Since then, the two have not stopped writing and Philip was invited to spend Christmas with the British royal family at their home in Windsor in 1943. Three years later, they became engaged secretly, in the summer of 1946, while staying at Balmoral. EFE
