Up to that point, only 20% of the work had been carried out and the board had to launch a new process that included canceling the contract and putting up part of the project, 75% of which, had not been implemented. .

It is estimated that more than five million investments still need to be implemented until all the work is completed, which if expectations are realized could be completed within a year and the center will start providing services to citizens at the end of 2023 or the beginning of. from 2024.

García Lorca Health Center provides coverage for nearly 20,000 patients from the neighborhoods of Gamonal, Capiscol, Castañares and La Ventilla, but after more than 30 years in operation, its facilities are small and outdated.

In recent years, neighbors have demanded new facilities, as they are now looked after in an inadequate fence, without ventilation and in the prefabricated building huts installed a year and a half ago in the midst of the epidemic.
