Health records 1,770 new cases of Covid-19 and 28,556 have been vaccinated

The Ministry of Public Health and Social Assistance (MSPAS), reported that in the last update corresponding to September 5, 1,770 new cases of Covid-19 were reported, after 6,410 examinations were conducted.

488.538 cases have been confirmed so far, of which 48,260 have been reported as active, and 427,957 have managed to beat the virus. However, the number of people who have lost the battle against the coronavirus is 12,315.

The case incidence is presently 2,897.9 per 100,000 inhabitants, while the fatality rate reflects 69.9 per 100,000 inhabitants, with a mortality rate of 2.5%.

Municipalities with the most cases

The health dashboard reflected three municipalities that recorded the highest number of confirmed cases in the past 24 hours:

• Guatemala has reported 117 cases in 466 tests
• Retalhuleu recorded 80 cases in 172 examinations
• Mixco recorded 25 cases in 115 tests




vaccination

To date, the country records 4,937,573 doses of vaccines administered throughout the national territory, 3,485,247 correspond to the first doses and 1,452,326 people have completed the program with the two specified doses.

On Sunday, the health system administered 28,556 doses of the Covid-19 vaccine, of which 13,471 correspond to people vaccinated with the first dose and 15,085 schedules have been completed.

Of the 28,556 doses administered, 4,395 doses corresponding to the Guatemalan Municipality are first doses and 7107 people received the second dose.

According to the pharmacist, the doses were distributed as follows:

• AstraZeneca: 723,770 first dose and 575.006 second dose
• Recent: 1,880,255 first doses and 82,3147 second doses
• Pfizer: 49,696 first dose
• Sputnik: 831,526 first dose and 54,173 first dose.
