India demands maximum preparation for the G20 virtual summit

In an executive meeting, Principal Secretary to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Pramod Kumar Mishra, reviewed the follow-up to the results of the major event held in New Delhi on September 9-10.

During the meeting, Mishra stressed that the G20 summit was not an isolated affair and that the Indian presidency had achieved tangible results, stressing that it was being closely monitored.

He explained that the government directed all ministries responsible for the various work teams to implement their specific sectoral axes.

He stressed that the Indian authorities are forming a high-level monitoring team.

He also stressed that the G20 Secretariat, the Department of Economic Affairs, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs are working together to achieve a successful virtual summit.

Mishra urged all relevant institutions to focus on the outcomes and final declaration of the leaders’ summit, ministerial meetings and task forces, and invited them to hold webinars with the participation of state governments and think tanks.

He explained that India’s support to the Global South, and in particular to the African Union, is an aspect that must be maintained in the continuity of work, and stressed the importance of preparing an action plan in this regard. During the meeting, it was also announced that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is organizing the Second Global Voice of the South Summit.

He added that as a result, economic achievements are declining, resources allocated for development are at risk, and many countries are facing problems in survival, so facing the future seems more difficult.

Jaishankar pointed out that in this context, India assumed the presidency of the G20 with its full responsibility to focus on the problems of the majority and seek joint action for a world in which unity prevails.
